Reactivate embarks on Bangkok Study Tour

During design week 2018, Reactivate conducted an International retail study tour of Bangkok.

Among many highlights, Siam Discovery and Siam Paragon were two major retail destinations that have leveraged place making to further enhance visitation and shopping experiences. Siam Discovery’s monolithic mall, with international brands and designers, is rivalled only by its sister mall, Thai-bespoke shopping centre, Siam Paragon.

Featuring mazes, plug-and-play food courts, recurring markets and a public photo booth - the tour demonstrated the influence of placemaking on retail destinations worldwide.

While retail activations have experienced exponential growth in the last ten years, CBRE recently published an article that identifies a similar shift in the offices and commercial-building market. With steep competition and greater value placed on social wellbeing, major commercial buildings are increasingly offering incentives to attract better-quality workers.

Reactivate will be taking expression of interest to attend a retail placemaking tour in March 2020, aligning with Bangkok Design Week.
