Over the past eight weeks we’ve had the pleasure of working closely with the NSW Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner on the 2023 Uptown Accelerator program.
Now in its second year, the program brings together nearly 25 districts, high streets and places from right around Greater Sydney and equips them with everything they need to know about establishing, incubating and running great places and going-out districts.
From vibrant high streets like Enmore Road and High Street Penrith, major planned precincts like the Entertainment Quarter and Barangaroo, to bristling multicultural districts like Little India in Harris Park and Haymarket, micro districts like Australia Street Newtown and town centres like Hornsby.
They joined us for three huge in-person, place visioning workshops and a bunch of follow up sessions to look deeply at their districts, what makes them tick and how they can aspire to be the some of the best going-out districts in the country.
Each one of these places is uniquely Sydney in their own right, and they're what makes our city one of the best cities in the world. So, it’s absolutely incredible to work with the people behind each place, and some of Greater Sydney’s best and brightest minds in F&B, retail, music, hospitality, the arts, culture, community and place.
