Reactivate directors invited to present at International Placemaking Week 2019 in Chattanooga, USA

Reactivate directors were delighted to be invited to present in Chattanooga, Tennessee for Placemaking Week 2019.

The ‘conference without walls’ brought together a host of the world’s leaders in placemaking to exchange information on how to create equitable and inclusive public spaces within our cities.

The innovation, business, community and cultural leaders of Chattanooga provided access into the cities historical places and comprehensive information on how it has reinvented itself as an innovation hub and cultural drawcard.

Reactivate co-directors Matthew Gollan and Andrew Coward were joined by Meriton Head of Architecture Neil Warner O’Connell and Neighbourlytics Co-founder Lucinda Hartley to discuss the diversification of Sydney’s night-time economy and the opportunities that lay head for the cities public spaces.

Following the conference, Reactivate was lucky enough to join Placemaking Week organisers Project for Public Spaces in their New York offices. What started with a tour of the office, ended up with visits to some of the most inspiring public space transformations in New York including Industry City in Brooklyn and Bryant Park in Manhattan.
