Reactivate appointed for place activation at The Foundations Portland!

The Reactivate team are excited to announce we’ve been appointed by Ecorr, owners of The Foundations Portland in Portland NSW, to support its green transition from former company cement town, to an arts, science and cultural destination. Reactivate have developed a Place Activation Plan and are in the process of delivering it.

As the ‘The Town That Built Sydney’, Portland's rich history and tight knit local community are a highly valued asset in which all future activations are to be built on. We are thrilled to be helping to shape the precinct a must-see destination, just outside of Sydney, helping to support this regional town’s transition from coal.

So much is already happening at The Foundations, including amazing artist in residence Harrie Fasher, silo murals painted by Guido van Helten, a science education program called Steamworks and quarterly Twilight Markets that are attended by thousands of people.

Portland is only 2.5 hours from Sydney, in the NSW Central West. The town sits within a region undergoing massive economic transition, as the coal fired power stations in the area begin to close this year. The town is located within a 20 minute drive from Lithgow, 35 minutes from Bathurst and a little over an hour from Mudgee.

If you have a place-based activation you want to propose please, get in touch by sending us an email to hello@reactivateconsulting.com.au.
