Project Type: Activation Opportunities Assessment, Place Research and Stakeholder Engagement
Year: 2023
Client: Greater Cities Commission
Reactivate was engaged to undertake applied research and analysis of place activation and attraction capacity and opportunities in the WHID. Through applied research and engagement, Reactivate provided valuable insights and analysis to support the development of a world-class Innovation District at Westmead.
The assessment provided place based information to support the NSW Government’s ambitious agenda to develop a world-class Innovation District at Westmead. Their research provided information on activation strengths, collaboration opportunities, and baseline analysis for future planning. They developed a comprehensive events and activation capacity database, identified unmet demand, and highlighted key catalysts to attract visitors and tenants. The outputs of their assessment will be utilized to populate promotional materials, including a future website, and to support collaborative planning among multiple stakeholders and landowners in the region. The team worked to deliver a detailed context paper accompanied by a detailed data base along with assessment of the regional catalysts.
