Project Type: Community and Stakeholder Engagement and Place Activation
Year: 2018-Present
Client: Cbus Property
Reactivate has developed two Place Activation Strategies for Cbus Property’s new major mixed-use residential precinct in Epping NSW. The first strategy focused on informing the design of the precinct and public domain to support desired place outcomes in addition to proposing a series of pre-construction activations that were also delivered by Reactivate including The Langston Weekender.
The strategy was updated in 2021 to coincide with the completion of the precinct. The new strategy outlines the place activations and program for Year 1 in addition to an ongoing program.
Both strategies were developed with considerable input from local businesses, residents and community groups. Reactivate developed and led the creation of the Community Construction and Liaison Committee (CLC) made up of local residents and stakeholders. The CLC has had input on the project from the early stages to present. In addition to engagement with future residents, the place activations that are to be delivered in 2022 and beyond are tailored to the needs, wants and desired of the residents and broader community of Epping.
The strategies have enabled Cbus Property to build place equity in their new precinct prior to and beyond practical completion of the Langston which comprises three residential towers, 1,681m2 of retail, a major through site link, new parklands and library.
Reactivate is currently engaged to work closely with Cbus Property and the concierge to deliver the Year 1 program throughout 2022.
