YCK LANEWAYS PRECINCT, SYDNEY CBD, NSW

Project Type:  Place Activation

Year: 2021

The YCK Laneways Precinct is a new 24-hour precinct bound by York, Clarence and Kent Streets in Sydney’s CBD that comprises 15 small bars. Reactivate worked with project stakeholders, Time Out and the small bars to strategise the design and launch of the precinct via an inaugural Block Party festival in May 2021. The one night only activation shut down Sydney’s Barrack Street for the first time ever for an intimate live music event, which hosted a sold out, COVID Safe event for 248 patrons with two up-and-coming Australian artists, including Northern NSW artist Budjerah and Melbourne singer-songwriter D’Arcy Spiller, with ARIA award-winner Jarryd James headlining the event.
