Project Type: Place Strategy, Engagement and Vision Workshoping
Year: 2023
Client: Investment NSW
As part of the annual Uptown District Accelerator program, we recommenced our collaboration with the NSW Office of the 24-Hour Economy Commissioner, for the second time this year. As part of the 8 week program, we organised and facilitated a three major Place Strategy and Vision workshops for nearly 25 districts across Greater Sydney at the beginning of the program. Over the course of two months, Reactivate worked individually with these districts, to craft exceptional and vibrant visions statements that were used to guide the districts throughout several other workshops in the program, culminating in a major District Showcase night at the end of the program.
These districts varied from lively high streets like Enmore Road and High Street Penrith to planned precincts such as the Entertainment Quarter and Barangaroo, as well as multicultural hubs like Little India in Harris Park and Haymarket, micro-districts like Australia Street Newtown and town centres like Hornsby.
We engaged in three in-person place visioning workshops and follow-up sessions to gain a deep understanding of these districts, their driving forces, and how they could evolve into premier destinations for entertainment and leisure. Collaborating with passionate individuals and experts from Greater Sydney in fields including F&B, retail, music, hospitality, arts, culture, community, and place was an incredible experience.
